Half Day Oxy Fuel/Plasma Cutting

In this class students will use a flux coated wire for brazing with oxygen and acetylene gas connected to a Victor torch outfit. You will learn how to start your torch, how to maintain a neutral flame, how to set your gauges, and how to clean your tips. Additionally, you will learn how to use the equipment for welding and cutting. These techniques can be used on various metals.

Students are encouraged to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

• Safety glasses
• Protective welding jacket
• Welding gloves
• Welding helmet

Additional Information:

• If a student doesn't have the PPE described above, these items will be provided for use during class.
• Leather closed toed shoes are required in the welding lab.
• Absolutely no shorts or open toed shoes are allowed in the welding lab.
