Description
This course covers the theory and operation of MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. This is a great class for the beginner welder or a seasoned welder that is looking to add to their skills. The full day class allows for more time to interact and address technique versus some of our shorter classes.
Topics include:
- Fundamentals of MIG welding
- Shielding gas and filler metal selection
- Equipment selection, set-up, and troubleshooting
- Equipment features, settings, and adjustments
The instructor will demonstrate basic welding techniques followed by instructor guided student practice. Advanced techniques will be covered as appropriate based on student interest and ability.
Students are encouraged to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Additional Information:
- If a student doesn't have the PPE described above, these items will be provided for use during class.
- Leather closed toed shoes are required in the welding lab.
- Absolutely no shorts or open toed shoes are allowed in the welding lab.
